At this year’s Wolves Summit, we joined a discussion on the role of the European Innovation Council (EIC) in supporting breakthrough technologies and scaling deep tech ventures across Europe. From early-stage research in Pathfinder, through market-driven Accelerator support, to the new STEP initiative – the EIC is building a robust pipeline of innovation, backed by a full suite of Business Acceleration Services.
Kinga Stanisławska from European Women in VC (EWVC) took part in the panel “European Innovation Council and Deep-Tech Investment in Europe”, alongside Michiel Scheffer (President of the EIC Board), Tomasz Ciamulski (Founder, Fibritech), and Hristo Hristov (Founder, Dronamics). The conversation focused on how the EIC is backing deep tech startups and supporting their growth across Europe and beyond.
It was great to also hear directly from standout EIC-backed companies like Dronamics and Fibritech, and to reflect on how far the EIC has come since its launch in 2017 under Carlos Moedas. Thanks to the early vision shaped by leaders like Jean-David, Stéphane, Keith, and the HLG-EIC members - including Bindi, Roxanne, Constantijn, Carlos, Katarzyna, Taavet, and others - the EIC is now a cornerstone of Europe’s innovation ecosystem, proving that bold ideas backed by strategic support can thrive.
