🇱🇹 Baltic Economic Resilience Round Table

Bank of Lithuania and Governor Gediminas Šimkus hosted a roundtable on Baltic economic resilience, where Kinga Stanisławska joined a panel of regional leaders to tackle the most pressing financial challenges facing the Baltics today.

The discussion brought together policymakers, investors, and business leaders to examine what drives investor trust and long-term capital commitment in the region. As Governor Šimkus noted:

"Private capital inevitably faces risks in every project. The risk does not scare investors but they do avoid uncertainty and ambiguity. The role of the state, strategic consistency and predictability therefore remain key factors of trust."

The conversation centred on how Lithuania and its neighbours are shifting toward higher value-added, longer-horizon investment models - bigger, more sustainable projects that generate stronger long-term returns. Since 2022, Lithuania alone has welcomed over 190 new investors, a testament to the region's growing appeal despite a complex geopolitical backdrop.

Great to see these conversations happening at the highest level with speakers including Rolandas Valiūnas, Vida Staskoniene, Kotryna Tamoševičiene, Edward Lucas, Laura Solanko, Madis Müller, Vladas Algirdas Bumelis, David Barwick.
